Realtors® across our state are committed to leading the charge to jumpstart our economy with a renewed interest in a stronger housing market. Our goal? It's to build a better North Carolina...one neighborhood at a time.
The real estate and housing industries create jobs — more than 550,000 of them, in fact, in the Tar Heel state alone. We're working with our elected leaders, government officials, business and industrial executives to strengthen our communities and our state. We're working to promote and protect homeownership. We're working to give back to the people we serve because we're all in this together.
Last year, we published the first-ever NC Realtors® Social Responsibility Report. We did it to bring a modicum of much-deserved recognition to the countless hours of volunteerism and charity efforts put forth by our members — your neighbors — in support of important projects in the communities in which we live and work.
We were amazed (and very proud!) at what we discovered. All told in 2010, Realtors® donated more than $2.47 million in hard and soft dollars toward community projects and initiatives. Whether it was "Coats for Kids" in Wilson or "Realtors® Care Day" in Charlotte, we found ample statewide evidence of our members' dedicated efforts to make a difference.
We understand the meaning of neighborhoods. We know that the fabric of a great community begins with people caring about each other. Every single day, Realtors® across North Carolina are leading the charge to give back.
Later this year, we plan to generate a Social Responsibility Report for 2011. In the meantime, here's our most recent report.
